The laundrette and the butchers shop (now Fur & Feather) were long established and utilized the roadway as business preimses, parking of vans and cars etc. That was until 1990 when the propriators of RJR Properties had the vision to create a "Mews" of first floor flats in the already owned property.
The project started out with flats 1 and 2 which are above the laundrette at the front end of the roadway..

They were completed in 1991 and shortly followed by flats 3 and 4 (No 4 being the only 2 bedroom flat in the development) in 1992. They were buit at the back end of the roadway and required the existing garages to be taken back to the ground and start a fresh. Both flats 3 and 4 were then buit from scratch with garages built in underneath at ground floor.

The next phase of the build went on to see the development of flats 6 and 7, both of which were directly above the Fitness Gym business which was on the ground floor. They where not strictly built together, flat 6 was built first but the roof to flat 7 was erected at the
same time as flat 6's to make the tie in easier. Upon the completion of the exterior work on flats 6 and 7, the Mews began to take shape and give an idea of what it was going to look like.
One of the main characteristics of the Mews is the Black & White colour scheme, with the wood in black and the masonry in white which gives an impresion of age sympathetic to some of the older propert yet with a modern feel.
